The nightly rate is in NZ$ and based on 2 people. Additional guests are charged at $25 per person per night. Rates include free WiFi and pantry basics. Provision of linen, towels and cleaning on departure is an additional $90 ($100 for Lemon Tree Cottage).  Rates valid until 30 April 2025.

Terms and Conditions

Occupancy

The maximum occupancy for each property is:

  • Strupak Cottage – 2 adults, not suitable for children
  • Riversong – 4 people, suitable for children aged 10+
  • Lemon Tree Cottage – 6 people, suitable for children of all ages
  • The Nest in The Wood – 4 people, suitable for children of all ages

Rates are based on 2 people. Additional guests are charged at $25 per person per night. There is no charge for babies in travel cots.

Rental Period

Minimum rental period for each property is 3 nights.

There is a 7 night minimum stay over Christmas and New Year period.

Discounts

  • Stay 7 nights and save 10% on the rental rate.
  • Stay 14 nights and save 15% on the rental rate.
  • Longer stays by negotiation.

Deposits

A 50% deposit is required to secure the dates, with the final 50% 6 weeks prior to arrival. Deposits can be paid by cheque or direct bank credit. International guests can pay via credit card through Paypal with an additional 4.5% charge.

Cancellation Policy

Due to the nature of holiday home accommodation, bookings are normally made months in advance. It is therefore difficult to re-book accommodation when last minute cancellations occur. As a result, the following Cancellation Policy is in place.

  • 6 weeks prior to arrival – full refund of deposit.
  • Within 6 weeks of arrival – 100% of deposits will be retained.
  • Cancellation or curtailment during stay – No refund will be made.

Covid 19 Cancellation Policy

If a guest cancels a booking more than 6 weeks prior to arrival the deposit will be returned.

Once the final deposit has been paid (6 weeks prior to arrival), then 50% of the total rental cost paid will be refunded if any of the following Covid-related circumstances occur prior to arrival:

  • The guest is not able to travel to NZ due to Covid travel restrictions
  • The guest receives a positive Covid test preventing travel to NZ
  • The guest gets “locked down” in another region of NZ, and Nelson is still open to travellers from non-locked down areas

If Nelson is in lockdown and guests are not able to access the property because travel into Nelson is not permitted, then all deposits will be refunded.

Cancellation or curtailment during stay – No refund will be made.

It is the guest’s responsibility to check travel regulations to NZ. Proof of circumstance will be required.

Smoking

All cottages are non-smoking inside (smoking permitted in garden).

Pets

Well behaved outside dogs are welcome at Lemon Tree Cottage by prior arrangement.

Parties

All properties are in quiet family residential neighbourhoods so parties are not permitted.

Check in times

Check in is 3pm, and check out is 10am. If you would like an earlier or later check in or check out please enquire – if there is no one else booked on that day it shouldn’t be a problem.

Bond

We reserve the right to request a bond of $250 at the time of booking to protect against loss, damage or additional cleaning which will be returned within 3 days of departure following a satisfactory inspection of the cottage.
